PETA Tries To Posterize Tiger Woods

Just when the Tiger Woods scandal starts to quite down and fade away someone or something always seems to drag it back into the headlines. Guess it's PETA's turn this time. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are searching for an advertiser for a new billboard featuring Tiger Woods and his recent troubles off the golf course. The billboard will say, "Too much sex can be a bad thing ... for little tigers too. Help keep your cats (and dogs) out of trouble: Always spay or neuter!" Oh and there's a huge picture of Tiger standing next to that statement.

Virginia Fort who's a campaigner for the project said, "It's a fun, tongue-in-cheek approach. We hope these billboard companies will understand." When asked about Tiger not endorsing the ad Fort said, "We're sure Tiger will appreciate our attempt — from a story that's distracted the world and followed Tiger — to turn it into something positive for little tigers."

Really? Tiger's not going to endorse that advertisement? I wonder why. Of course he doesn't want any part of this, the dude doesn't want his name to appear next to the word sex no matter what it is in reference to. This is awesome oh and sure Virginia, he's going to appreciate your attempt about as much as he appreciates the media following his wife and kids.

PETA is awesome, I can always count on them to go way too far with their love of animals and blow thing way out of proportion. Look, you love animals and you're all about animal rights, great that is very admirable, but please explain to me what this has to do with Tiger Woods and his skanks errrr I mean waitresses? This is just like PETA isn't it, taking a good cause and using it for the wrong reasons. Remember this is the same PETA who sent a get well soon and by the way you deserved it message to Roy Horn after he was attacked on stage during a performance by Montecore the tiger.
I say leave Tiger the golfer alone and let him do right by his family and get back on the golf course because despite what my friend Rachel believes, golf and the PGA are suffering without the dude and if you don't believe me just ask someone who won the Accenture Match Play Championship. If you knew it was Ian Poulter you suck but chances are you didn't.

Buffalo Bills starting RT retires at 26

Brad Butler, the starting right tackle for the Buffalo Bills, announced his retirement after only four years in the NFL. He has interned for Congressman Jack Kemp in the past and apparently he would like to continue working with the government. In a statement released by the team Butler said, "My passion for education, country and community is something that I am ready to devote my full attention to. I believe the best way to pursue these spheres of interest is to step away from the game of football at this point in my life." Butler was drafted in 2006 and played just two games in 2009 after a serious knee injury against Tampa Bay.

In other words, the Bills aren't going anywhere anytime soon so I quit. Look, I can respect his passion for education and country and community but clearly you are quitting if you are throwing in the towel after four years. Most of these guys are practicing everyday to make it to the NFL level and when they get there they don't want to leave just ask Brett Farve. I don't know if the dude wants to be a politician or just work for Congressman Jack Kemp or just get away from western New York.

Hey it's his life he can do whatever the hell he wants but he's definitely a rare guy. I don't think we're going to be seeing  Tom Brady clearing his locker to go on the road with Hillary Clinton anytime soon. We probably won't see Peyton Manning hanging up his jersey to take a job guarding President Obama or Tony Romo leaving the Cowboys to become the White House Press Secretary. Do you see where I am going with this? Before this announcement you could say those scenarios would be ridiculous but dude really did quit the NFL to take a desk job. Maybe he wants to be a teacher, he did mention his passion for education so that's an honorable profession...a little bizarre seeing as how dude was earning ten times a teacher's salary but hopefully he likes his next profession a little more than his previous one.

Most athletes claim they do what they do, be it contract hold outs or whatever, for the love of the game and not for the money. Let me tell you something, when an athlete or anyone for that matter says it's not about the money, trust me it's about the money but in Brad Butler's case, maybe the money wasn't enough to keep doing something that wasn't his passion.

Pro Wrestler Ric Flair Assaulted By Wife?

A shocking story is developing out of Charlotte, North Carolina at the home of Ric Flair, the legendary 16 time World Heavyweight Champion of wrestling. The "Nature Boy", who is currently wrestling for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, is alleging his wife Jacqueline Beems assaulted him after dinner. Police say Flair's 41 year old wife had in fact been charged. Flair claims his wife attacked him after they went out for dinner. The 60 year old professional wrestler sustained minor injuries but refused treatment from paramedics.

This is incredible and yeah I know all about the "Undertaker" getting burned during his entrance but this story blew all of the other reports off of the map. Certainly not a slow news day, I could have gone with LaDainian Tomlinson getting fired errrrr I mean released from the San Diego Chargers on Monday. Or I could have gone with the substitute teacher showing porn to a high school classroom in New Mexico. Yeah dude thought it was a history lesson on the tape he got from his friend, oops!...uh you might want to screen your friend's tape next time.

The Ric Flair story stood out because dude made his living "performing" in all sorts of brutal matches for decades and he has won the World title many times. The WWE's biggest show Wrestlemania is coming up next month and yeah I'm going but I don't think the card will have anything close to what allegedly went down in the Flair house Sunday night. Now I could throw out possible scenarios that were volunteered by some of the goofballs here at the studio but I am the mature one clearly.

I don't know if she had him in a figure four leg lock or a sleeper hold or if she jumped off of a table like a top rope or smacked him with a steel chair Petros I guess I could go check if I were a field reporter but I'm a blogger dude. That is amazing though, one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the world got taken down by his wife. That is a bad woman, not sure if she has MMA training or what. Hulk Hogan, the Macho Man, and the Four Horsemen had better look the hell out for their wives or girlfriends or significant others.

NHRA Racing Accident Kills Fan

While my colleagues are all talking about the huge USA upset hockey win over the Canadians in the Winter Olympics, I am going the opposite direction towards Arizona where a drag racing accident killed a woman. The woman was watching a race at the Firebird International Raceway when Antron Brown's dragster lost it's left wheel and it struck the woman who's name had not been released. The NHRA did release an email statement. "The entire NHRA community is deeply saddened by today's incident and sends its thoughts and prayers to the woman's family and friends." The NHRA said the driver Antron Brown was not injured. The race continued and John Force won his second straight Funny Car final before the race was postponed due to rain.

The reason I decided to blog about this story is because of what happened after the accident. Now I understand that the show must go on, I have been to outdoor events and got soaked but the show continued and it usually says rain or shine on the ticket. Hey if you plan an event months or even years in advance I could see how you would like to see it finish. That being said, a death at an event should be grounds for a rescheduling or even cancellation.

A death usually takes away your competitive drive if you are performing and if you're a fan I don't think you would care anymore who won. I mean someone did lose their life, why not shut it down? You have got to be kidding me! Hey listen, I am the biggest sports fan and it's no secret but I don't think I am going to be in a cheerful mood after watching some poor woman get run down by a rogue tire. For me the race is over I wouldn't care who won after seeing something so horrific, but I know there were some degenerates who would've complained had the NHRA actually done the right thing by shutting it down for the day.

I know I may take some heat on this one and I say bring it. I know she was airlifted and they didn't know her immediate status but you can't just sweep away the debris that killed someone and begin waving the flags again, I mean just restart the thing the next day how hard could it be? I don't care if there is no one in the stands just show some respect to her friends and family. It did rain shortly thereafter so the event was postponed anyway, it just looks bad and if you don't agree then imagine it happened to someone close to you and tell me that you'd stick around for the finish. Sad day at the track, thoughts and prayers to that woman's family.

NBA's Nets Moving to Newark?

Good morning dudes, before I go out there and embarrass myself on the golf course I decided to tell you about another embarrassment taking place in the NBA. The New Jersey Nets are moving to Newark for two years until their new home is completed in Brooklyn. They will be playing their regular season games at the Prudential Center which is already home to the New Jersey Devils NHL team and to Seton Hall's college basketball team. The last time the Nets played at the Prudential Center they drew 15,721 fans nearly selling out the two preseason games. This is far more than they usually have in attendance at the Izod Center, the team's current home.

I'm not so sure this is a good move and I'll explain why a little later. Someone who does like the move is Brett Yorkman the Nets Chief Executive. "This temporary move not only gives our fans a state-of-the-art arena with the first-class amenities common in most NBA buildings, but also provides our players with a great atmosphere in which to play."

Alright listen, I don't even know where to begin with this. First of all I don't think there is an atmosphere which can help the Nets play better. This team that the Nets are sending out every night could probably get beat by Kansas or Syracuse which is pathetic. The top college basketball teams don't belong on the same floor as paid professionals and yet the Nets are on the verge of running down the 1972-73 Philadelphia '76ers for their 9-73 worst record ever. Right now as of this post, the Nets have a stellar 5-50 record. That is awesome, how do you have the audacity to charge people to see this garbage? They play the Memphis Grizzlies next and you know Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins has a W circled for this game.

Now the reason I don't think this is a good move is simply economics. You can move this team to the most beautiful arena ever constructed and nothing will change until you put a better product on the court. Sure attendance will be high at first because of the new arena but people will get sick of seeing their team lose every night by 20. Attendance shouldn't be an issue when you're located next to the most populated city in the world but if your team isn't showing up neither will the fans.  The way to improve your team is to get better talent on the court everything else will follow. The Lakers did it, Miami did it, and Cleveland is doing it this year. One more thing, why can't the Nets actually build a new arena that is in New Jersey? Why Brooklyn? Then again the New York Giants play in New Jersey so nevermind.

Showdown At Sawgrass

Ola, this is my debut blog on blogger and probably my 7,000th blog I've written to date. I also have blogs on "" and "" but if you want to read those you can request from me by mail and I'll be sure to send you the links. I thought about posting the links on this blog but I didn't want to force feed you my opinions.

Enough about me personally, did you guys check out that massacre uh I mean press conference today held by Tiger Woods? The dude looked like he was walking to the electric chair this morning on the way to that podium. Look, Tiger cheated on his wife...several times, dude isn't proud of what he's done. Tiger looked like he was choking back tears as he apologized into the camera and he would like the media to give his family more privacy...the end.

Well I wish, instead this story will never end, it won't go away. I personally don't care about what he does off the field I'm not his wife. All I care about is him playing golf so maybe these sports news outlets and I don't want to call anyone out ESPN, will move on to other stories.

Seriously, I cannot remember the last time I was blitzed by a story like this. What I mean is that I couldn't get away from this story if I wanted to. Several channels had countdown clocks to "Tiger Speaks" their words not mine. It was on the radio in my car, it was on the tv at starbucks, it was on my blackberry thanks to my friends texting me, it was everywhere so I watched I admit it.

Not like I could help it but interestingly enough, the person I wanted to see wasn't even at the confession errrr I mean the press conference. Anyone see Elin Woods around? If I have to watch this nonsense than so does she. Well I take that back she's been through enough.

Bottomline, I hope dude can overcome all this and get back to being the greatest golfer ever but he does owe an apology not to us but to his family, well maybe also the field today at the Accenture Match Play Championship that's currently going on and that everyone forgot about at 8am/11am eastern today...
